In July 2014, my husband received a job transfer to Charlotte from Syracuse, NY. We moved to Mooresville with our three daughters and our dog, Griffin. I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and 7-12 Mathematics from SUNY Oswego, and a Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Syracuse University. Previously, I taught middle school in the Syracuse suburbs for 11 years. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy scuba diving and have been certified since I was 13 years old. At 17, I earned my advances scuba certification and search and rescue certification. I am thrilled to be a member of the Bailey Middle School staff and am looking forward to an exciting year in 6th grade science!
We follow the CMS 10-point grading scale. Your science average will be calculated by weighting informal assessments 35% and formal assessments 65%. All tests can be retaken within two weeks of the return date, after remediation is completed. The maximum retake score is an 80% (example: If you receive a 100 or 99 on a retake, your new test score will be an 80%).
Each student will need a 3-ring binder for science class with loose leaf paper, a pen or pencil, and a glue stick.
